Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born to a musical family on 9 August 1963. She was born in Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel star Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. as well as a cousin of the singing sensation Dionne Warwick. When she was a kid, she sang in her New Hope Baptist Church in Newark. By the time she reached the age of 15years old, Houston was singing professionally as a backing vocalist with her mother for Chaka Khan's hit song in 1978 Im Every Woman. She beat even the Beatles. The album was sold to three million people in the first year as well as 25 million around the world. Her first six Grammy Awards. The album Whitney was released in 1987 and featuring the smash songs Where Do Broken Hearts go? and I Wanna Dance With Somebody, continued her earlier success. However it was The Bodyguard (1996) that cemented her position as one of the best-selling albums in pop music.
