Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born at Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder gave her the name of her hometown. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder, who considers herself Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria and half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder as well as her entire family relocated to California's Mendocino County in the year 2000, when Ryder was just seven. The family didn't have electricity. Ryder was a voracious book reader because there was no television.
